Our Slip Evaluation Process
Comprehensive Assessment: We assess your flooring to identify potential slip hazards, considering factors like flooring type, surface texture, and environmental conditions.
British Pendulum Tester (BPT): The BPT, or Pendulum Skid Resistance Tester, is renowned for its accuracy in measuring slip resistance.
Testing Procedure:
- Preparation: we would test the floor in an uncleaned “as found” condition. We then clean and prepare the floor. We would evaluate the uncleaned and cleaned PTV results.
- Pendulum Test: The BPT with “slider 96” simulates a slipping foot, measuring the friction and distance travelled to determine slip resistance.
- Results Analysis: The BPT provides a Pendulum Test Value (PTV), indicating the floor’s slip resistance. A higher PTV means better slip resistance.
Reporting and Recommendations
- After testing, we provide a detailed report with:
- PTV results for each area
- Analysis of slip resistance performance
- Recommendations for improving slip resistance, if necessary
